"I remember being told that when the Wildlife Park had closed some wallabies had escaped and were living in the forest just above the main road and had been spotted a few times over the years. One story that I remember is a fellow telling me that his daughter hitting one with her car one night and phoning him to come and help. He took it home put it in a box beside the fire as it looked like it was in shock- in the morning it seemed fine so he released it back into the wild."
