The White Lady of Breakish

"When we were young kids growing up in Breakish, the old folks told stories. One of them was that when a heavy mist came down on the dip in the hill, they would see a vision of a white lady dressed head to foot in a long, flowing dress.

"It could have been a shape in the mist, or maybe they had been on the deoch* - there were two whisky stills on the hill in the 1800s!"

’Deoch’ is the Gàidhlig word for (alcoholic) drink

As told by John Nicolson, resident of Upper Breakish
